Rain Cancellation today for the Steel Challenge shoot. The weather isn’t going to be favourable at any point during set up or shooting.
Stay tuned for info about last weekends IPSC shooting. We had numerous shooters complete the Black Badge Certification course and there were quite a few shooters that safely completed Level I and Level II matches this weekend to complete their Black Badge Certification.
Hello everyone, just a quick reminder that we are starting our steel challenge matches tomorrow evening at Range C of the St. John’s Rod and Gun Club. First shot is planned for 6:00 pm sharp. The earlier you can get out – the better, we can always use a little help for the set up. If you are one of the new folks that have expressed interest in coming out to shoot – just walk on up to whomever is there and introduce yourself. You’re going to get a chance to meet everyone once we start shooting anyway. 😉 Cost of Steel Challenge is $5.
Our first IPSC Match of the season is this coming Saturday, May 12th. Again, we are hoping to see lots of new faces that have completed the Black Badge Certification courses over the last month – come on out early to help set up and meet everyone. First shot is planned for 10:00am and this is easy to do when we have a few hands out there to help build the stages. I’ll be out there for 8:30am to get things rolling. Cost of IPSC Matches is $10, payable at the Range before you shoot.
See the attached poster and information. Just a quick reminder about the Black Badge Certification courses coming up this season.
Pass it along to anyone you know that may be interested! Interest is certainly up this year and we are planning on making it a memorable season of shooting.
I hope that all is going well with you. If you are reading this, that’s great – however, I’m in the process of creating a large email list. It has come to our attention that some people have tried to subscribe to this website and had a problem completing the process. Regardless, you are reading this so all is good; however, if you wish to be added to the new distribution list please send a quick email to section.coordinator@ipscnl.ca with a quick message to be added to the DL.
I may switch to using a distribution email list as opposed to having people register to this site. Lots of folks just want to be added to the loop and get an email, without having to go and register. That’s fine with me. I just want everyone to be getting the same message a one email distribution list allows that.
The website is now updated with scheduled matches, Black Badge Certification Course information and out 2018 Provincial Match info.
Please go view the info and let me know if I missed anything, something is wrong OR you would like to announce anything IPSC related as I don’t have a problem passing along info for you.
Well, it goes without saying that the weather last Saturday was spectacular for November. We had LOADS of food in a warm trailer and it was a great day for shooting!
Well folks, NTV News was pleased with covering our Provincial IPSC Competition and we were glad to work with them. Huge thanks to Amanda Mews for following up on this story.
I waited for the HD Version of the story from NTV but couldn’t get it – that’s too bad. Here is the link to the clip from Aug 22nd.
Please watch, enjoy AND SHARE, SHARE, SHARE ACROSS YOUR SOCIAL MEDIA.
We would really love to increase the amount of IPSC shooters here in NL. For more information about shooting IPSC click here and get info about the Black Badge Certification Course; or follow the Black Badge Course info from our IPSCNL Homepage.
We had our first BB Certification Course of the year on May 6-7th. It was a full class of 10 participants. The Instructor was Steve Chapeskie while we had 2 Instructor Candidates (Rick Crane & Paul Barrow). The weather for the weekend was chilly but we had blue skies all weekend! That is rare for us to experience.
All 10 students safely completed the practical component and passed the exam. They just need to safely complete an IPSC Handgun Match. Here are some photos from the weekend’s course.
The next BBC Course is scheduled for July 29-30th 2017.
Congratulations to all and have fun shooting!!! Big thanks to Steve C and Paul B for helping run this course.

Hello folks,
We have a Black Badge Course scheduled for Clarenville at the end of the month! See the attached poster for all information pertaining the Course.
If you know someone who is thinking about getting involved in the Action Shooting Sports – this is the course for them. A great environment to practice safe gun-handling while getting some great tips on shooting.
It’s a busy 2 days but lots of fun! If there are any questions or concerns; please contact one of the IPSC Executive members.
See you at the Range.
