LeBlanc Brethren here is the Funeral Notice as released by Carnell’s LeBlanc, Joseph Michael Just one day shy of his 61st.birthday, Michael passed away peacefully at the HSC, after a long and courageous battle, from Congestive Heart Failure. Prayers go out for Michael who now leaves behind his loving wife of 30yrs Cathy (nee Chafe); and two children Christopher and Amanda (JP Larocque) who filled him with great pride. He will be forever loved and heartfully missed. Michael was predeceased by his parents Roger and Bernice LeBlanc of Halifax. He leaves behind a brother Phillip and a sister, Tammy. Michael was also a proud member of the community. A Radio personality in the province with VOCM in Grand falls-Windsor, Gander and St. John’s; Q-Radio and Oz-FM. Michael has also served on the Board of the Canadian Diabetes Association and with the Air Cadet League of Canada. He volunteered with St. John Ambulance both in St. John’s and Gander where he was Brigade Superintendent. Michael was also a member of the Royal Canadian Air Force and in recent years was a member of the Peacekeepers Association. He served as a member of Masonic Lodge St. Andrews and in the Mazol Temple Shrine. While living in Cornwallis, N.S, Michael was a member of the Bear River Volunteer Fire Department, and started the very first Air Cadet squadron in Digby Nova Scotia as a branch of the Greenwood Squadron. Always a smiling face and pillar to the community in his own way, we now mourn the loss of a gentle, funny and caring man. Visiting will take place at Carnell’s Funeral home on Tuesday and Wednesday from 2:00pm to 4:00pm and 7:00pm to 9:00pm; his funeral service will take place in the Carnell Memorial Chapel on Thursday July 9 at 11:00am.
